Due to the collecting of related materials, which makes it simpler to recycle or reuse, this procedure will benefit recycling the most trash produced. Deforestation exacerbates the issues of today. Because they protect us as intelligent beings, we must preserve plants and forests. Everyone is impacted by the global issue of solid waste management. FREEDOM

Image
Independence is the right to express one's own free will within the bounds of the law, acceptance as a sovereign state without jeopardizing diplomatic relations, and acceptance as a country that accords the highest importance to human rights. A significant accomplishment was the independence of the Philippines. On Independence Day, people remember the sacrifices made by national heroes, celebrate the nation's sovereignty, foster nationalism in the populace, and honor the local customs and culture. Families spend the day in parks and participating in other celebration activities because businesses, companies, and schools are closed on this national holiday. The Philippines declared independence from the United States of America on July 4, 1946. On July 4, 1946, President Harry S. Truman issued Proclamation 2695, officially recognizing the Philippines' independence under the Philippine Independence Act (also known as the "Tydings–McDuffie Act"). The Philippines, a...

Binatbatan

Image
The Binatbatan Festival has seen various adjustments during this time. In recent years, the celebration has deviated from our custom. To avoid getting and spreading the virus, we are unable to create crowds or close contact with persons. Binatbatan can be observed this year due to the low and declining incidence of CoVid-19 virus. It is now time to return to the familiar world. Biguenos, as well as guests from neighboring towns, are now welcome to attend the Vigan City festival. The festival's purpose is to promote awareness about Vigan's historical significance. People congregated in designated areas after the streets were closed. The drums are hammering consistently and loudly. The street dancers wear colourful costumes and yell excitedly, "Viva Vigan!" The administrators employed street dance to honor the Binatbatan holiday, with students from several schools participating. They wave their "batbat" joyfully and joyously, some replicating Abel-weavers'...

Time Flies by so Fast

Image
I'm still perplexed about how quickly time passes. Here I am again writing a reflection on what I learned this quarter.  Despite how much I stated that time flew by, I thought the third quarter was fantastic. Mentally, I can gladly state that I am doing much better than the previous quarter. Nonetheless, this quarter taught me a lot. I've learned a lot about important events in our community, on how they were celebrated and how people are looking for these events every year. I have also learned about our history which is very helpful. This is my first time working on a community-based project; at first, I had a lot of complaints at first, but I was able to complete it in the end. I'm having difficulty understanding the subject because I'm terrible at writing essays and conducting research. Because I had so many essays to write, I experienced a lot of troubles or difficulties this quarter.  The emotions I've had in the third quarter are unlike anything I've exper...

Patriarchy was responsible for shaping women's roles in society during the 18th and 19th centuries. Men have been seen as superior throughout history, while women have been regarded as inferior. Women are viewed as the sole breadwinners in households, and they are not afforded the same rights as men. Furthermore, stereotyping has had a negative impact on women. On television, women have been shown as inferior to men. The repercussions of a society attitude of women are depicted in television depictions of women. An ideal woman, in the eyes of a guy, is a homemaker who handles all of the domestic chores herself. However, research has demonstrated that gender roles have gradually advanced over time. From the moment they are born until they die, women play a number of important functions in our society. Despite everything that women have done in the past and continue to do today, we are still viewed as weak since males are still viewed as the 'stronger' gender in society. In...

Vaccines save millions of lives every month. COVID-19 has infected over a million people around the world. As the number of patients infected with COVID-19 continues to rise across the country and around the world, scientists are working on a vaccine to help cure the illness and prevent it from spreading further – an important practice for a disease like COVID-19. Overall, vaccines are efficient at limiting disease spread by providing immunity. Vaccines and childhood immunization are crucial for averting outbreaks and pandemics and protecting yourself, your children, and society as a whole from hazardous diseases. Vaccines protect against diseases that have the potential to become pandemics, and by vaccinating regularly, diseases can be completely eradicated. Everyone is at risk for contracting COVID-19, and symptoms can be severe at any age. Especially considering the more contagious omicron variant, children are at risk for contracting and spreading the virus. The CDC now recomm...

Araw ng Kagitingan

Image
Araw ng Kagitingan, also known as the Day of Valor, marks the greatness of Filipino fighters during World War II. It is marked on or around April 9 in the Philippines each year.  The Day of Valor is a public holiday. It is a day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed.  In 2022, it falls on a Saturday, and some businesses may choose to follow Saturday opening hours. Araw ng Kagitingan is a non-working holiday that is part of a long weekend in the Philippines. World War II veterans parade in different cities in the Philippines on this day. There are small parades in different localities in the Philippines but the Araw ng Kagitingan’s main highlight occurs when the country’s president gives a speech at the Mt Samat shrine, in the Bataan province, to commemorate the heroism of the Filipinos and American troops during the World War II.  Araw ng Kagitingan is a regular holiday in the Philippines and occurs on or around April 9. Lent Season: Restart

Image
Lent is the period of 40 days which comes before   Easter   in the Christian calendar. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. Lent is marked by fasting, both from food and festivities. Whereas Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus after his death on the cross, Lent recalls the events leading up to and including Jesus' crucifixion by Rome. This is believed to have taken place in Roman occupied Jerusalem The Christian churches that observe Lent in the 21st century (and not all do significantly) use it as a time for prayer and penance. Only a small number of people today fast for the whole of Lent, although some maintain the practice on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. It is more common these days for believers to surrender a particular vice such as favourite foods or smoking. Whateve...

Kannawidan Ilocos 2022

Image
Fiestas and celebrations are returning as the Philippines begins to recover from the impacts of the Covid-19 outbreak, providing Filipinos with a much-needed dose of levity. Kannawidan was officially begun by the province administration of Ilocos Sur in early February 2022, with a slew of activities aimed at celebrating life and sharing joy. To show off and share their cultural treasures with the rest of the world, the villages founded the "Kannadiwan Festival." It honors Ilocos Sur's rich culture and customs, as well as the province's separation from Ilocos Norte. The name "kanawidan" is derived from the Ilocano word "tawid," which means "legacy" or "inheritance," and it is significant because it is the Ilocanos' way of thanking the Almighty for the city's rich heritage, which includes deep family ties among the Ilocanos, as well as for the abundant bounties. This event exemplifies the townfolk's strong faith. Kan...

The second quarter came and went in a flash. We learned a lot of lessons and learned a lot of new interesting information's. Aside from that, we'll be moving forward in the academic year. With that in mind, here are my second-quarter reflections. This quarter has taught me a lot, both in terms of life lessons and information that I will need in the future. The last two months or so have been quite difficult; the second quarter had something to do with HTML, I'm not knowledgeable with HTML or web design, so I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to do well. Though I was wrong, I was able to understand it pretty well. I'm pretty contented on what I've done cause I know I did my best, although I find it difficult managing my time on my studies, my family, friends and even the things I want to do; I lack motivation. Motivation is required to do tasks successfully. This quarter, I've lost motivation, which is why I've struggled to complete my schoolwork...

Christmas In Our Hearts

Image
Christmas is a wonderful time of year. It's all about helping people and giving back. During the month of December, people remember Jesus Christ and his life lessons. It's just a gentle reminder of why we must remain true to our humanity's essential values. We are urged to share, donate to the less fortunate, spend time with loved ones, and have a positive outlook on life in general through celebration.  Christmas in Vigan has always felt enchanting.   When wandering through the streets of Calle Crisologo or resting on the Plaza Burgos swings, you can feel the Christmas air. However, when the pandemic struck, everything changed. The pandemic has been going on for about three years, which means we've had two Christmas seasons during this time. We light parols in Vigan City to keep the festive spirit alive. Various Christmas decorations are strewn over the city's central district. Tourist Attractions additionally adds Christmas decorations to the location of our attra...

Viva Vigan!!!

Image
A festival, often known as a "Fiesta," is an important component of Filipino culture. A fiesta is held in each city or province. Because Philippines is such a religiously based country, fiestas are frequently held to honor the patron saint of a city or province, or to commemorate a harvest. In the Philippines, there is always a fiesta going on. A fiesta is a special occasion that includes a dinner for family and friends. They are always vibrant and one-of-a-kind. The Philippines, like most Asian countries, is rich in culture and heritage. The goal of this festival is to find joy in the midst of a pandemic. To honor how resilient the city has been in the face of the pandemic. We should celebrate the people's solidarity in order to preserve the true character of the fiesta, as well as the sacrifices made by the frontliners and the government's leadership in assisting and leading us to prevent unwelcome events. All events at the Vigan City Festival have been canceled d...

The New Year is greeted with great enthusiasm and fervor all across the world. Christmas in a Pandemic

Image
We are preoccupied with rules on how to enjoy Christmas this year– with just members of the family who live in the same household, to continue wearing masks, to observe social separation, or to wash hands frequently– due to the attention on the Covid virus. For our mutual security and safety, we are being prevented from visiting one another. This year, we won't be able to experience the normal Christmas joy and mirth that we have come to expect. COVID spreads through social gatherings, and we're more vulnerable around the holidays, when we're tempted to leave our inner bubbles to visit others. We must, however, avoid this temptation and remain safe at home this year. Even though this holiday season will be unique – and unpleasant for many – we can rest assured that the sacrifices we make today will protect us, our loved ones, and our communities in the future. The idea is to have everyone here next year to celebrate in person. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/nov/18...

Time to Come

Image
Children are the world's future. They will be the leaders of tomorrow, making decisions that will have a direct impact on our generation. Because children are malleable, it is our responsibility to mold them well and guide them in the right direction. W e have to know how to teach and educate them adequately so they could be prepared to lead future generations.  All children should be taught peace, dignity, tolerance, freedom, equality, and unity.   I consider that each child has its own way of learning; there are multiple ways in which a person could be intelligent and capable of completing tasks. Children of today will become grownups who will work and manage the country in the future. When children's rights are protected, they have a much better chance of growing up in a society that permits them to thrive. Children are entitled to extra protection and assistance since they are considered vulnerable. Regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, wealth, or place of birth, every ...

Fighting to Succeed

Image
We all have been affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has been affecting the entire world. COVID-19 is killing people on a large scale. However, the impact of the pandemic and its consequences are felt differently depending on our status as individuals and as members of society. While some try to adapt to working online, homeschooling their children and ordering food via Instacart, others have no choice but to be exposed to the virus while keeping society functioning. A lot of people lost their job, lost their love ones and lost their life that they supposed to be enjoying at this era of their lives. As breadwinners lose jobs, fall ill and die, the food security and nutrition of millions of women and men are under threat, with those in low-income countries, particularly the most marginalized populations, which include small-scale farmers and indigenous peoples, being hardest hit.  I hope all of us will help each other and cooperate and follow health protoco...

Implementation of the New normal

Image
This covid 19 pandemic has caused much disturbance in our lives. One of these is the new way of education. Not only us students find it difficult but also our teachers and parents. Despite the sudden shift to online learning and given the technical difficulties that you may encounter throughout the school year, you still need to set a good example by staying calm and positive.  This new way of learning brought by COVID-19 pandemic can be an additional challenge during this tough time. And since going back to the “normal” we’re all accustomed to isn’t going to happen anytime soon, let’s all do the best we could to adjust and make this current situation work. Learning in the new normal is a challenge for the teachers, students and even parents. Overall the new normal education isn't that bad as i expected, although some people find it difficult cause we all don't have the same ability and life status. I hope this pandemic will be gone soon so that we can all go back to face to ...

Save Earth, Save ourselves

Image
All living things that live on this earth comes under the environment. Whether they live on land or water they are part of the environment. The environment also includes air, water, sunlight, plants, animals, etc. Moreover, the earth is considered the only planet in the universe that supports life. The environment can be understood as a blanket that keeps life on the planet sage and sound. We truly cannot understand the real worth of the environment. The entire life support of humans depends on the environmental factors. Most importantly, our environment is the source of natural beauty and is necessary for maintaining physical and mental health. The environment gives us countless benefits that we can’t repay our entire life. As they are connected with the forest, trees, animals, water, and air. The forest and trees filter the air and absorb harmful gases. Plants purify water, reduce the chances of flood maintain natural balance and many others. I hope people will take care of the ...

One step at a time

Image
In this quarter, I've learned a lot about the internet. How technologies evolve and affect our daily lives, especially in this pandemic, where education is online. Technology is a great aid to our learning in this new normal. Some people may find technology a blessing and a curse because it can give you bad and good things.  I discovered new things about myself that I didn't know existed. I became more interested in learning technology and became more expert in it. A lot of people experience bullying on the internet too, which is very wrong. The internet is made for us to enjoy and express ourselves. People should always think twice before posting things because some people might get offended or hurt.     Technology has a significant role in our lives, especially in making a prosperous life. But you can waste your time using it if you don't manage your time. I personally suffer from managing my time, but I'm working on it. Technology really is something else. I'v...
