Christmas in a Pandemic

  We are preoccupied with rules on how to enjoy Christmas this year– with just members of the family who live in the same household, to continue wearing masks, to observe social separation, or to wash hands frequently– due to the attention on the Covid virus. For our mutual security and safety, we are being prevented from visiting one another. This year, we won't be able to experience the normal Christmas joy and mirth that we have come to expect. COVID spreads through social gatherings, and we're more vulnerable around the holidays, when we're tempted to leave our inner bubbles to visit others. We must, however, avoid this temptation and remain safe at home this year. Even though this holiday season will be unique – and unpleasant for many – we can rest assured that the sacrifices we make today will protect us, our loved ones, and our communities in the future. Children are the world's future. They will be the leaders of tomorrow, making decisions that will have a direct impact on our generation. Because children are malleable, it is our responsibility to mold them well and guide them in the right direction. W e have to know how to teach and educate them adequately so they could be prepared to lead future generations.  All children should be taught peace, dignity, tolerance, freedom, equality, and unity.   I consider that each child has its own way of learning; there are multiple ways in which a person could be intelligent and capable of completing tasks. Children of today will become grownups who will work and manage the country in the future. When children's rights are protected, they have a much better chance of growing up in a society that permits them to thrive.
